Editorial Policy & Standards

Editorial Policy & Standards

Sport News is committed to producing accurate, fair, and useful sports content. This policy explains the standards we hold ourselves to and how we maintain the trust of our readers.

Accuracy & Fact-Checking

We strive to get the facts right. Editors review articles before publication and check key facts — such as dates, venues, names, and figures — against reliable, authoritative sources. When official information (for example, from FIFA for tournament details) is not yet confirmed, we say so and point readers to the official source rather than guessing.

Sourcing

We prioritize primary and authoritative sources. Where we rely on third-party reporting or data, we attribute it. We do not knowingly publish rumor or unverified claims as fact.

Bylines & Dates

Every article carries a clear publication date and is attributed to Sport News Editorial Team. When an article is meaningfully updated, we refresh the modified date.

Independence & Disclosure

Our editorial decisions are independent of advertisers and commercial partners. Some pages may contain advertising or affiliate links; these never determine our editorial conclusions, and material commercial relationships are disclosed. We do not publish undisclosed sponsored content disguised as editorial.

Corrections

We correct errors promptly and transparently. To report a mistake, see our Corrections Policy or email [email protected].

Use of AI Tools

We use modern research and drafting tools, including AI assistance, under human editorial oversight. Read more in our Editorial Guidelines & AI Disclosure.
